We Need Some Diversions

Of course you think. And think. And think about life’s problems. Every moment of worrying just makes you feel downhearted, discouraged. But I tell you. Don’t dwell on it. I’m not telling you that it will never come in to your mind. There are some relapses. Expect it. The next time you think about your worries, try to have some sort of diversion. Yes, diversion.

Divert yourself into something positive, something meaningful. Try doing something worthwhile. Try giving to other people. It will never fail to make you feel better. But don’t give merely to make yourself feel better. Give to make others feel that they are loved and appreciated. Do some sports. Write. Learn something new. Read God’s Word. Plant. Take care of a pet. Get yourself busy. These are only some ways by which you can feel better, happier.

So the next time you worry, do some diversion. You can do it.

Do not Lose Spirit

There really are times when we feel that the world has come crashing down. Everything bright has turned grey and black. It’s as if we are doing the battle all alone.

In times like this, we should never lose spirit or totally give up on our fight. At some point we may slow down, we may fall. But we should keep going, keep running to our destination. Remember that life is a game. If we give up, we are the losers.

I have been to several struggles. And I would say that in each struggle, I’ve improved as a person. I’ve become stronger and wiser. So when you feel that you’re about to give up, get up and get going. Continue with the fight. I know you can do it.

When Loneliness Attacks

Everyone feels lonely. At some point in our lives, we feel that nobody cares for us. It’s as if we are wearing invisible cloaks and people just don’t see us. It really is a sad thing.

But don’t lose spirit. It’s completely normal to feel that way. Even the seemingly successful people experience loneliness too. What’s important is we identify the reasons why we feel the way we do, attempt to manage our feeling, and not let it overcome us.

In my case, I feel lonely when I’m having my own personal and family issues. Sometimes it’s also because of my hormonal imbalance (due to PMS). Also, I feel this when I wasn’t able to do my scheduled tasks. What I do is I embrace such loneliness for a time. I try to express it through crying, writing, and praying. Once I’m done with the drama, I get back to work and feel much, much better. That’s just a simple explanation of how I deal with loneliness.

So, when do you feel lonely? What do you do when you’re lonely? How do you try to get over such feeling? Comment in the box below.

I Was Here

Everyone wants to leave a mark. We know of people who made names in the field of business, music, technology, sports, and the like. So my question is, what do you really want to be known for? What kind of person do you want to be?

This reminds me of one song that has influenced me a great deal. That song is entitled “I Was Here” by Lady Antebellum. I think songs nowadays should have a similar feel. It impresses in the minds of young people to do “something that matters,” “to say something different.” It emphasizes the possibility of being a somebody – not a nobody.

Of course preferences vary. And everyone has a choice. The important thing is, we strive to be what we want to be, without violating any important principles. I would like to share a few bits of the song with you too, and so here it goes:

“I Was Here” by Lady Antebellum

You will notice me
I’ll be leaving my mark like initials carved in an old oak tree
You wait and see
Maybe I’ll write like Twain wrote
Maybe I’ll paint like Van Gogh
Cure the common cold
I don’t know but I’m ready start cause I know in my heartI wanna do something that matters
Say something different
Something that sets the whole world on its ear
I wanna do something better
With the time I’ve been given
And I wanna try
To touch a few hearts in this life
Leave nothing less
Than something that says “I was here”

I will prove you wrong
If you think I’m all talk, you’re in for a shock
Cause this dream’s too strong
And before too long

Maybe I’ll compose symphonies,
Maybe I’ll fight for world peace
Cause I know it’s my destiny
To leave more than a trace of myself in this place

I wanna do something that matters
Say something different
Something that sets the whole world on its ear
I wanna do something better
With the time I’ve been given
And I wanna try
To touch a few hearts in this life
Leave nothing less
Than something that says “I was here”

And I know that I will do more than just pass through this life
I’ll leave nothing less than something that says “I was here”

“I was here”
